The Visitor

Jyoti was a high school student, who was living alone, away from her home. She had a part time job to pay her bills. She had a very hard life where she needed to make a balance between her studies and her job. Her social life was not that good at the time and she could not make many friends. She barely made any contact to her parents. One night, while Jyoti was taking a shower, she heard her doorbell ringing. She went to check who that was. She peeked through the peep hole and saw it was her aunt Meghna. Jyoti was puzzled what her aunt was doing there at that time, but she didn't bother to give any second thought and opened the door for her. As soon as Jyoti opened the door, Meghna quickly made her way inside. That was unexpected for Jyoti; she noticed that her aunt was behaving really weird. Meghna was standing restlessly at a corner. Jyoti said, "Hey aunty! What's wrong? What brought you here this late at night?" Meghna looked at her with a blank face; she was stari...

Woody Is Not There!

My sister, Shruti, had recently lost her husband, and she moved to a new house. She had a three-years-old daughter; Maya. Shruti never told me, but her neighbors said that her husband was a real jerk. He used to beat her and threaten her to kill her and Maya. Her husband died in an accident that occurred in their house, but the rumors were that Shruti had cleverly murdered her husband to get rid of him. After that, my sister left that house along with her daughter. One day I went to meet Shruti to her new home. My lovely niece welcomed me with her gracious smile. She was just three-years-old and could speak a very little. In the afternoon, when my niece was playing in her room, Shruti and I were doing the dishes in the kitchen; All of a sudden, we heard my niece screaming, “WOODY IS NOT THERE! WOODY IS NOT THERE!” I couldn’t understand what was happening; both of us ran down to Maya’s room. When we reached to her room, we saw that she was pointing towards a doll. It wa...
